The Transformation Timeline
From early adversity to rock bottom to elite combat performance coach.
Instability & Early Adversity
Lived in approximately 20 different houses across Canada and America. Attended 10-12 different schools. Father was incarcerated and eventually deported. Stepfather imprisoned after a drug raid.
These experiences forced rapid maturity and built the mental toughness that would later define his coaching philosophy.
Early Competitive Athlete — But at What Cost?
Excelled as a competitive wrestler and multi-sport athlete. Dominated on the mat. But beneath the success was heavy drug abuse—marijuana, alcohol, steroids, and other substances.
Coaches looked the other way because the drugs helped him play through injuries. The body was winning while the mind was deteriorating.
The First Awakening
Despite the chaos, graduated as valedictorian with academic excellence in law. This came after a 16-day drug bender and seeing failure on the horizon.
Discovered spiritual teachings—Eckhart Tolle, chakras, Eastern philosophy. Had a profound realization about the interconnectedness of all things. Abandoned his athletic scholarship, recognizing his focus had been misplaced.
The Pursuit of Truth
Dedicated himself to intense study. Read over 300 books on hermeticism, Buddhism, quantum physics, psychology, mythology, and self-improvement. Watched hundreds of hours of lectures.
Engaged in deep meditation, breath-work, and completed numerous long fasts. This period developed the philosophical foundation that now underpins the Unchained methodology.
Rock Bottom — The Breaking Point
In Izaiah's Own Words:
"I was 160 pounds, on a 7-week bender and slamming more than a Mickey every night. I had knee and shoulder injuries. I was weak and frail.
Despite endless hours of meditation and reading hundreds of books, I couldn't translate any of the knowledge I had gained into action.
I was living off of the government's money, living at my parents. I was a sorry excuse for a man."
This led to a brutal shadow work journal entry confronting every weakness:
The Truth Is...
- I lack discipline
- I lack self commitment
- I lack drive and focus
- I am lazy
- I am physically weak
- I am afraid of being great
- I don't hold myself accountable
- I lack structure
- I know what to do, yet don't do it
- I take the easier path
"AND THE TRUTH IS... ALL OF THIS MUST BE FACED, ALL OF THIS CAN BE OVERTURNED AND ALL OF THIS SHALL BE CONQUERED.
Live to die. Die to transform. Transform to live.
Mediocrity Is Hell. Stasis is hell."
The System That Changed Everything
Created a rigorous daily protocol to systematically destroy every weakness:
The Daily Protocol
- Wake up at 7am
- Stretching 3 times per day
- Meditation 3 times per day
- Reading 2 times per day
- Workout (daily training session)
- Mental training 2 times per day
- Cardio (daily)
- Sleep at 11pm
"The turning point came when I became disgusted enough to make a change.
I made sacrifices and took the path of most resistance. I found David Goggins and felt a fire to grow and evolve.
The savage within me began awakening."
The Transformation Complete
"Today, my life is completely transformed. I have a clear sense of purpose and direction.
I've won bodybuilding trophies, won MMA fights and BJJ matches.
I'm strong, healthy, and full of passion for life. I'm focused, and now am a beacon of light and power to those around me.
If you are lost, just know that change is possible. You CAN recreate yourself."
Core Philosophy
The integration of Eastern wisdom, Western action, and athletic discipline.
Physical as Spiritual Practice
Training isn't separate from mental development—it's the vehicle for it. The discipline required in physical preparation builds the psychological resilience needed for competition.
Shadow Work for Athletes
Most athletes ignore their psychological weaknesses. The Unchained methodology forces radical self-honesty—identifying and systematically eliminating the mental barriers that limit performance.
Multi-Disciplinary Wisdom
Drawing from Hermeticism, Zen Buddhism, quantum mechanics, and modern sports science. The physical and metaphysical aren't separate—they're integrated into one system.
Discipline as Devotion
Discipline isn't a rigid set of rules—it's clarity, focus, and execution aligned with your deepest desires. It's devotion to becoming who you're capable of being.
"I am the architect of my life. Take responsibility. Take action.
The path of most resistance is the path of most reward.
Out of darkness comes light."
READY TO BUILD YOUR EDGE?
If my journey resonates with you—if you see yourself in the struggle, in knowing what to do but not doing it—then you know what comes next. The question is: are you disgusted enough to change?
